Jeff Daniels: I own Will McAvoy in "Newsroom" season two

(CNN) — The first season of Aaron Sorkin’s HBO drama "The Newsroom" bitterly divided viewers: Some embraced its depiction of the fast-paced world of cable news. Others found it overwrought and tuned in to " hate-watch " as the show dramatized current events to reveal the inner workings of the media.


"The Newsroom" returns for season two on Sunday, and according to Jeff Daniels, who plays crotchety TV news anchor Will McAvoy, the show has found its groove.

The Hunger Games, The Woman in Black, and Men in Black 3 among films complained about to the BBFC

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) received letters after cuts were made to The Hunger Games and Bruce Willis blockbuster A Good Day to Die Hard to secure 12A rating, complaining there was not enough violence in the finished film.


The BBFC yesterday published its annual report for 2012, the organisation’s centenary year, and representatives from the body discussed films certified since.


The Hunger Games , based on the first book of the fantasy trilogy by American writer Suzanne Collins, generated 43 complaints about its violence and the theme of children forced to fight to the death in gladiatorial contests in the future.

"Blackfish": A chilling doc on captive killer whales

(CNN) — It was one of the hottest films out of Sundance, but "Blackfish" will leave you with chills.


The nearly 90-minute documentary tells the story of SeaWorld trainer Dawn Brancheau, who was killed in 2010 when the killer whale Tilikum grabbed her ponytail and yanked her underwater. The harrowing moment is depicted in the exclusive clip above.


"I became interested in this project when I found out about the death of Brancheau," filmmaker Gabriela Cowperthwaite said. "I was very confused by that story, because I didn’t understand why a killer whale who was a very highly intelligent animal would have made a decision to kill a trainer that was actively feeding it."
